in this 13' by 8' room sits a bass guitar, a six string, a microphone,
a mac, and a bunch of percussion knick-knacks...coughing up LASERS
SHOOT FROM OUR FANGS. vacuous todd (instruction shuttle, depth charge)
produced these 10 tracks during the summer and fall of 2006, sounding
kinda like a whacked-out classic dream. drawing heavily on an influence
of alt-rock from the 1980s and 1990s and the techy abstracts of
futuristic ambient electronic, LSFOF will invade the inner workings of
your ear and send you to the nuthouse of listening pleasure. sonic
slabs of dream vapor bounce around on top of kitchen-style beats, where
boxes were used as bass drums and finger cymbals used as hi-hats.
theresa chase lent her voice on two tracks, adding such a nice touch
and soul to vocals on "storm" and "burns my eyes". we sound
like a blended mix of the cure with massive attack with the orb with
the church with a little dash of wang chung and a bit of sisters of
mercy cut with a slice of shortwave radio interceptions while watching
'videodrome' with your 80's anthemy synth pop classics playing in the
background of the colorado lounge of a haunted old resort hotel, in the
winter off-season, with the torrance family running around inside of
it...
rock and roll from outer space, or just a collection of daydream
anthems and shanties of hypnosis?
you decide.
